As usual, I'm in Sweden for the summer, seeing friends and family, and doing a ton of work. Went to see my friend David and help out with a photo shoot.
One of my most regular clients in Sweden, has been troublesome when it comes to paying and communicating. Payments have often been late, and it has been nearly impossible to find out why, who to talk to, and when to expect the money. Of course, this is a very nerve-racking situation, that no one in their right mind would put up with.
Turns out, I was not the only one. After a discussion among freelancers on Facebook, it was revealed that many of us had the same problem with the magazine. One of us finally broke down and outed the magazine on its own page. I chose to back her up with my experience, after a non-satisfactory answer. It cost me future assignments, and I got a thank you-letter, praising my skills as a writer and photographer, and stating that my latest assignment was the last. Mixed feelings between anger, disappointment and relief.
Up to Vermont for a short vacation over the weekend. Food, vintage shopping, yoga, and an excellent Victorian Bed&Breakfast.
